Employee well-being, productivity, and overall organizational performances are directly influenced by work environment in an organization. Hence, it is important to manage healthy work environment within the company.  This will be benefiting to company by increasing Employee engagement and work satisfaction, by reducing the absenteeism and turnover. In addition to that it will promote innovation, teamwork, and creativity, while leading to good problem-solving and decision-making (Coann Labitoria, 2022; Beaumont, 2023). In the end, putting a weight on a healthy workplace environment will gives advantage of a business's long-term viability, competitiveness, and reputation as well.

 

Few HRM Strategies to Encourage a Healthy Work Environment in an Organization:

Open Communication and Transparency: Promoting open communication between management and employees will lead to have a clean work environment. It makes sure, employees are at ease enough to share their worries, suggestions, and criticism and, when a company policies, decisions, and goals are transparent, employee trust will increase and the uncertainty about the company and other matters will be reduced. This will lead to have a better working relationship and work environment in the company (NNRoad, 2023). 

 Introducing Work-Life Balance: In the MAGEMENT ARTICLES, (2023); Personio, (2024) described, implementing work-life balance in a company by providing flexible work opportunities, such as reduced working days in a week, working flexible hours, or remote working and, implement policies support to manage personal and work life will helps to keep the healthiness in the environment in a company.

 Conducting Wellness Programs: Maintain the mental, emotional, and physical health is crucial in a company to gain a long-term productivity. Hence by implementing the programs that focuses on those aspects will lead to have a healthy work environment which is led to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness in later. companies can be also provided benefits like access to counselling services, stress management programs, training, and gym memberships to maintain the healthiness in working environment (Stuart Gentle, 2022).

 Training and Development: Companies can be invested to training and development programs to encourage their employee’s personal growth and skill improvement since the lack of opportunities to growth will lead to employee turnover and it will affect the employees working environment indirectly.  Employees are more likely to be satisfied with their job roles and continue to be involved in their work if they are challenged and appreciated (Stuart Gentle, 2022; NNRoad, 2023).

For an examples in real business application, MAS Holdings are ensured that, the company is contributing to their employee well-being first. they have treated to their employees with respect and fair manner. To improve their physical and mental well being, they give the employees necessary training and conducting the coaching program. Also, they are providing support to employees to share their voice and ideas (MAS, 2024). By using these strategy the company maintaining the healthy work culture within the company to boost the efficiency and productivity. 

According to the Hayleys PLC,(2023) annual report, the company has conducted the health camp for the entire employees to have test the physical well-being while they have arranged stress management programme for support mental well-being. Also they are conducting management and leadership programme plus training and development programmes to strength their employees with skills and capabilities. overall the company try to develop healthy work environment among their employees to enhance the company performance while increasing employee performance and productivity by using the strategies.

 

Conclusion:  

In the fast-changing business environment, companies have identified the effectiveness of maintaining Healthy work environment and culture. By executing HRM strategies within organization they have created healthy work environment, which is prioritized its employee well-being, engagement, and automatically it will lead to maintain productivity and efficiency  in an organization.
